My consultation and titration were all done online. My consultation was with Dr. A. Mitra who was friendly and made it easy for me to open up and say what i needed to say.
I was then assigned to Ms Helen Hardcastle for my titration period and even though I have never seen her face, it felt like I had a friend with me throughout.
Ms Hardcastle explained everything that was going on in an easy to understand way, describing effects of medications, evaluating how I felt and working on that. Her dedication does not end at her job, she genuinely cared. At one point I was admitted to hospital due to an infection, while in hospital I needed to reply to an email from Helen where I explained a situation I was going through and mentioned I was in hospital, her reply was so heartfelt, genuine and caring it made me shed a tear and gave me the strength to carry on at a time where I felt lonely and scared. She has been nothing short of wonderful and I feel blessed that I was under her care.

Psychiatry-UK has accelerated considerably my ADHD diagnosis and then subsequent titration. To say it has revolutionised my life is an understatement. Thank you so much for the encouragement, care and sensitivity that was given throughout this process.

The process was efficient, I had to wait a lot less time that the current waiting times and both my psychiatrist were responsive and provided me with a lot of useful information about my diagnosis and how to proceed.

We found the service to be swift supportive and clear. Sally Sweeny who monitored my daughter through this was very quick to respond to queries and medication requirements.
Dr Zanlina Farley made my daughter relax and communicate, which was amazing through zoo.

Chris Echezona my nurse gave me excellent care even though it was remote, he listened and offered me invaluable advice, we came to a conclusion on which medication worked the best for me.
The psychologist Dr Anney is so caring and understanding too I was very nervous prior to my diagnosis she was so understanding and guided me through the process.

I am so grateful for every person involved in my care, from assessment to end of titrating medication. I cannot express how much my life has improved thanks to this service. My only improvement would be to offer phone call updates or zooms with your prescriber to communicate needs and side effects more easily. I communicate far better through talking to a person than filling in a form. Other than that, I cannot fault the professionals involved in this service, they have been wonderful!

You have mentioned that you would have preferred to communicate with your prescriber via telephone or Zoom. As an online service, it is more efficient for us to communicate via our patient portal to be able to support as many people as possible and reduce the wait for patients on our titration waiting list. For many of our patients this works well, and they tell us that they appreciate the flexibility of being able to pick up their portal notes when convenient to them, but we do appreciate that our systems do not suit everyone. I highly recommend Psychiatry UK to everyone I come across that is seeking assessment. Both my Psychiatrist (Tracey Norwich) and my perscriber (Menaz Kermali) were amazing throughout the process and I couldn't have asked for better practitioners. I also love the online portal and process, it made the forms much easier and more accessible since the forms are filled in on the portal digitally, so no handwritting or having to download them and then re-upload them, and it also means that you don't have to worry about being forgotten about during the wait or uncertain about the process, as well as making communication much easier as you can leave a note at any time instead of having to call. I felt heard and listened to throughout the process and very comfortable talking to Dr Norwich and Menaz, who both took my thoughts into account and involved me throughout. I have felt dismissed by some clinicians in various NHS settings in the past, but I can confidently say I never felt that way with Psychiatry UK and will always enthusiastically recommend them!

Felt incredibly supported and listened to in my initial assessment.
During titration my prescriber (Sally Newport) was incredibly attentive and kind. She suggested phone calls when messaging wasn't meeting my needs and she was very quick to send me guidance and offer me help throughout. I had a lot of setbacks during titration due to bad luck with illness and I still felt supported. I felt the medication I've ended up with was tailored to suit my needs and I was listened to throughout.
I cannot be more thankful for the service. The diagnosis is so important for me and the medication is definitely going to impact my life so much. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially with how finicky the whole process can be.
